Assistant Lodge Manager / Duty Manager – Luxury Safari Camp, Hoedspruit Salary: R15,000 – R20,000 Negotiable DOE | Live-in Position Overview Kendrick Recruitment is seeking an experienced and professional Assistant Lodge Manager / Duty Manager for a luxury safari camp in Hoedspruit. The successful candidate will support the Lodge Manager in overseeing daily operations, ensuring exceptional guest experiences, and maintaining high operational standards across the camp. Responsibilities • Oversee day-to-day operations during assigned shifts and manage staff across departments • Support the Lodge Manager in operational planning and execution • Ensure high levels of guest service and handle guest feedback professionally • Supervise housekeeping, food & beverage, and front-of-house teams during duty periods • Maintain health, safety, and compliance standards across the camp • Assist with staff scheduling, training, and performance management • Monitor inventory, supplies, and equipment • Handle administrative duties, including reporting and shift documentation • Act as the camp’s point of contact in the Lodge Manager’s absence Requirements • Previous experience in lodge or safari camp management, preferably within a luxury environment • Strong leadership, organisational, and communication skills • Proven ability to manage teams and maintain high service standards • Knowledge of operational processes across housekeeping, F&B, and guest services • Ability to work under pressure and solve problems efficiently • High level of professionalism, discretion, and attention to detail • Flexibility to work weekends, public holidays, and on-call shifts as required
