Job Summary
- Proven experience in a warehouse management role or similar position.
- Strong understanding of warehouse operations, logistics, and supply chain processes.
- Ability to analyse data and implement process improvements.
- Experience with warehouse management systems and inventory control software.
- Strong IT skills with the ability to learn new programs quickly.
- Excellent leadership, organisational, problem-solving, and numerical skills.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- No criminal record.
- Non-smoker preferable.
Qualifications:
- Matric
- Certification in logistics or warehouse management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee day-to-day warehouse activities including receiving, storing, inventory control, order fulfilment, and dispatching.
- Develop and implement operational policies, procedures, and best practices to ensure efficiency and accuracy.
- Monitor and maintain warehouse performance metrics, including key performance indicators (KPIs) such as order accuracy, turnaround time, and inventory levels.
- Analyse data to identify trends and recommend improvements to operations.
Staff Management:
- Train, supervise, and evaluate warehouse staff.
- Manage and produce regular reports on staff performance.
- Action disciplinary procedures against staff who breach company regulations.
- Foster a positive and safe work environment, promoting teamwork and continuous improvement.
Inventory Control:
- Ensure accurate inventory tracking through regular cycle counts and audits.
- Co-ordinate with purchasing and production teams to manage stock levels and address discrepancies.
- Manage processes to reduce stock loss and optimise inventory turnover.
Customer Liaison & Service:
- Act as the main point of contact for customers regarding order fulfilment, delivery schedules, and stock availability.
- Ensure timely and accurate communication with customers on order status, delays, and any issues affecting deliveries.
- Address customer inquiries and complaints professionally, ensuring swift resolution of any issues related to warehouse operations.
Logistics and Coordination:
- Collaborate with suppliers, carriers, and internal teams to ensure seamless inbound and outbound logistics.
- Plan and co-ordinate transportation requirements to meet delivery deadlines.
- Resolve any issues related to shipping, delivery, or logistics promptly.
Safety and Compliance:
- Enforce health and safety standards in the warehouse, ensuring compliance with local regulations.
- Ensure all equipment is maintained and operated safely, scheduling repairs or replacements as needed.
- Ensure the warehouse is kept clean and the working environment is organised.
