Job Summary
Ensure that the day-to-day operations of the housekeeping department are carried out according to the standards of the company and as specified by senior management
Perform regular inspections of laundry, public areas, and lodges
Manage, support and assist housekeeping personnel as required
To ensure that all housekeeping personnel are being briefed on their daily duties
Lead by example with appearance and personal hygiene
Ensure that the cleanliness, hygiene and sanitation of rooms and public areas
Ensure that all repair and maintenance problems that need attention are reported
Always maintain a positive attitude and a courteous and professional demeanour
Anticipate and respond to all guest needs quickly, efficiently and courteously
Ensure that any guest complaints are resolved quickly
Ensure that monthly stock takes are carried out
Requirements:
Grade 12 & a formal qualification
Preferably 2-4 years previous housekeeping supervisor experience in a large Hotel / Resort
Ability to coordinate & lead the housekeeping team
Ability to motivate team
Attention to detail
Be alert and innovative
Good computer and administration skills
Ability to cope under pressure
Written and verbal communication skills

Job Summary
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily housekeeping operations, including room assignments, inspections, and task coordination.
- Ensure all rooms and public spaces meet cleanliness and presentation standards.
- Conduct regular inspections of guest rooms, corridors, and public areas to ensure quality control.
- Lead, motivate, and support the housekeeping team to maintain high standards of performance.
- Assist with onboarding, training, and ongoing development of housekeeping staff.
- Coordinate with front office and maintenance teams to ensure timely room readiness and resolve issues efficiently.
- Maintain housekeeping inventory and order supplies when necessary.
- Uphold health, safety, and hygiene standards in line with hotel policies and regulations.
- Address guest requests and complaints promptly and professionally.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Minimum of 2–3 years’ experience in housekeeping, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
- Strong eye for detail and commitment to maintaining high standards.
- Excellent organizational and leadership skills.
- Ability to manage time and prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with housekeeping systems and hotel cleaning protocols.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
