About the Role
The Electrical Foreman is a critical role that requires a highly skilled and experienced individual to oversee the maintenance and repair of electrical equipment on site, ensuring compliance with safety standards and regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out repairs and planned maintenance on all electrical equipment on site
- Perform electrical installations on new equipment
- Modify and improve existing equipment (with approval) to optimise capacity
- Ensure legal compliance of all electrical installations and equipment
- Manage a team of electricians, assistants, and apprentices
- Diagnose faults and repair machinery
- Allocate equipment and materials for daily tasks
- Ensure adherence to safety standards
- Coordinate, monitor, and report on team performance
- Plan daily work schedules and ensure effective shift cover
- Manage overtime within budget
- Control and order critical spare parts
Requirements
- Electrical Trade Test
- Minimum 10 years supervisory experience
- Wiremans Licence (Advantageous)
- NTC6 in Electrical Engineering
- Strong knowledge of electrical and electronic equipment and industry tools
- Understanding of power reticulation, control systems, and equipment ranging from 12V to 11KV
- Fault-finding and problem-solving on industrial machinery
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagrams
- Experience with transformers, PLCs, and Variable Speed Drives
- Knowledge of instrumentation and equipment repairs
