About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Onsite Desktop Engineer to join our team at DBN North for a 6-month contract. As a key member of our IT support team, you will be responsible for providing technical expertise and support to our customers. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of desktop hardware fundamentals, Microsoft Windows, and Microsoft Office, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities
- Be a technical escalation point to resolve incidents which lower tiered Engineers are unable to resolve
- Be a mentor to lower tiered Engineers
- Write Work Instructions and Standard Operating Procedures for common tasks
- Work within a Service Desk ticketing application and ensure that tickets assigned to you are communicated on and resolved with SLA
- Assist Operations Managers with technical queries when needed
- Willing to work unscheduled overtime if required
Requirements
- Senior level experience and understanding in Microsoft Windows for Endpoints, Microsoft Office, and Desktop/Laptop hardware fundamentals
- Mid-level experience and understanding in Mimecast Anti-Virus, Microsoft Active Directory (On-Premise), Microsoft Group Policy, and Network WAN and LAN fundamentals
- Entry-level experience and understanding in Microsoft Azure Active Directory, Network Firewall, Switches, Access Points, Routers, and Controllers, as well as Third-Party Applications (Exclaimer, Code 2, Sage, M-Files)
- Ability to work in a multi-tenanted environment and with other Business Units and Vendors
Qualifications
- Grade 12
- A and N (Required)
- Microsoft 365 Certified: Endpoint Administrator Associate (Beneficial)
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Information Technology (Diploma, Beneficial)
