About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Hotel Duty Manager to join our team at Irene Country Lodge. As a key member of our hospitality team, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the hotel during assigned shifts, ensuring exceptional guest service, smooth interdepartmental coordination, and adherence to hotel standards and procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the overall operation of the hotel during the shift
  • Ensure high levels of guest satisfaction and promptly resolve guest complaints
  • Supervise Front Office, Housekeeping, Food & Beverage, and Maintenance activities
  • Handle emergency situations and ensure safety procedures are followed
  • Conduct daily shift briefings with department heads
  • Monitor staff performance and provide on-the-spot guidance and support
  • Assist with staff scheduling and attendance monitoring
  • Ensure accurate reporting and handover between shifts
  • Monitor cleanliness, presentation, and service quality throughout the hotel
  • Assist in managing room occupancy, VIP arrivals, and special requests

Requirements

  • Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in hotel operations, with supervisory experience
  • Strong knowledge of Front Office, Housekeeping, and Food & Beverage operations
  • Excellent leadership and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays
  • Computer literate with knowledge of hotel management systems

Qualifications

  • Diploma or Degree in Hospitality Management or related field
