About the Role
Magnus Consulting Solutions Pty Ltd is seeking an Advanced Level 2 Engineer to join our team in Johannesburg. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in IT infrastructure and cloud management, AI and data analytics, compliance and regulatory knowledge, strategic project management and transition leadership, cybersecurity and threat intelligence, and excellent communication skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Expertise in IT Infrastructure and Cloud Management: Architecting, implementing, and optimizing hybrid/multi-cloud environments (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, VMware, etc.), advanced networking (SD-WAN, zero-trust), virtualization/containerization (Kubernetes, Docker), and infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation).
- AI and Data Analytics Proficiency: Hands-on advanced experience with machine learning frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn), AI tooling ecosystems, big data platforms (Spark, Databricks, Snowflake), and analytics pipelines.
- Compliance and Regulatory Knowledge: In-depth expertise across global and industry standards including GDPR, POPIA (relevant to South Africa), HIPAA, SOC 2 Type II, ISO 27001/27017/27018, PCI-DSS, and cybersecurity frameworks (NIST CSF/RMF, CIS Controls).
- Strategic Project Management and Transition Leadership: Demonstrated success leading enterprise-scale IT transformations and migrations from legacy MSP (reactive/ticket-based) to MIP (proactive/intelligence-led) operating models.
- Cybersecurity and Threat Intelligence: Advanced capabilities in proactive threat hunting, incident response (IR), digital forensics, and security operations.
