Job Summary

Our client in the logistics industry is seeking a dynamic Business Development Executive to join their team. This role requires a true hunter – someone with a strong drive to proactively seek out and acquire new business and clients for the company Role Overview This is a purely sales-focused role aimed at identifying new business opportunities, bringing in new clients, and driving revenue growth within the logistics and supply chain space. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in selling logistics services and a solid understanding of the local and regional transport landscape. Key Responsibilities Identify, target, and secure new business opportunities in the logistics and supply chain sector. Build and nurture long-term relationships with clients to encourage repeat business and referrals. Conduct client meetings and site visits to assess logistics needs and propose tailored solutions. Develop and present compelling proposals and pricing strategies aligned to client requirements. Collaborate with operations and customer service teams to ensure successful service delivery. Maintain accurate records of sales activities, pipeline development, and client interactions. Stay abreast of industry trends, competitor offerings, and pricing strategies. Consistently meet or exceed monthly and quarterly sales targets. Minimum Requirements Grade 12 (Matric) Relevant qualification in Sales, Marketing, Logistics, or Supply Chain (advantageous) Minimum 3 years’ experience in B2B sales within the logistics or transport industry Proven track record of successfully closing deals and growing a customer base Strong understanding of logistics services (e.g., road freight, warehousing, distribution) Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills Own reliable vehicle and valid driver’s license Must be based in or able to commute daily to Germiston Personal Attributes Self-motivated and target-driven Confident, persuasive, and well-presented Excellent problem-solving and solution-selling skills Strong business acumen and customer-centric approach

Job Summary

Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the shipping and logistics sector. With an emphasis for contract logistics / warehousing customers. Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their needs and offering tailored solutions. Conduct market research to identify trends, customer needs, and competitive landscape. Experience with pricing for warehousing and/or freight forwarding. Prepare and deliver compelling presentations to potential clients to showcase our services, being contract logistics, freight forwarding and road including final mile solutions. Collaborate with internal teams (operations, marketing, finance) to ensure seamless execution of client projects. Monitor sales performance metrics and report on outcomes to senior management, including pipeline management reporting. Participate in industry events, conferences, and networking activities to promote company services. Negotiate contracts with clients while ensuring profitability for the company. Assist in developing marketing strategies that align with business development objectives Bachelor””””””””s degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain Management or a related field. Proven experience in business development or huntersales within the shipping or logistics industry (2 years preferred). Strong understanding of Sales, Hunting for new business, logistics operations and supply chain processes. 35k inclusive of Cell Phone allowance and Travel Allowance Capped Medical Insurance Retirement Fund which includes Disability Cover, Funeral Cover, Life Cover. Company vehicle negotiable
