About the Role
The Candidate Attorney will complete their articles under the guidance of senior attorneys and partners, gaining hands-on experience across different legal disciplines. The role requires a diligent, organized, and eager-to-learn individual with strong research, drafting, and client service capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist attorneys with legal research, case preparation, and drafting of legal documents.
- Attend consultations, court proceedings, and mediations when required.
- Prepare and manage court bundles, indexing, filing, and document collation.
- Draft pleadings, affidavits, letters, contracts, and memoranda.
- Liaise with clients, counsel, and external stakeholders in a professional manner.
- Manage administrative tasks such as file management, document tracking, and diary updates.
- Conduct legal analysis and support litigation, conveyancing, or commercial matters (based on rotation or firm structure).
- Ensure confidentiality, accuracy, and compliance with legal and ethical standards.
Requirements
- Completed LLB degree from a recognised institution.
- Must be eligible to register and commence articles in accordance with the Legal Practice Council (LPC) requirements.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent legal research and drafting ability.
- Attention to detail, professionalism, and strong organisational skills.
- Ability to work independently and within a team.
- Proficiency in MS Office and legal research platforms.
