Job Summary
CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER (SENIOR MANAGER LEVEL) Area of Specialization : Reporting to the Group Executive of Government and Regulatory Affairs, the Chief Executive Officer will be responsible for strategically leading and managing the Development Foundation and positioning the organization as a top-performing utility in supporting Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). Department : Development Foundation Minimum Requirements Qualification(s) : Bachelor’s degree in Business Management/Finance or similar. A postgraduate business management qualification, such as an MBA/MBL or equivalent, will be an advantage. Related Experience : 10 years’ extensive experience in a management capacity (at least 5 years) in a corporate environment. Proven experience in Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). A demonstrated track record of leading complex initiatives. Skills and Competencies Behavioural : Integrity Honesty Trustworthiness Professionalism Leadership : Coaching, mentoring, and compassion. Strong group facilitation, cross-functional and conflict resolution skills. Strategic and conceptual thinking capabilities. Ability to integrate diverse information sources into effective decision-making. Financial and general management expertise. Knowledge : Knowledge of business operations within the utility sector. Understanding of the South African CSR context. Familiarity with integration methodologies and approaches. Programme and strategic management. Knowledge of CSR best practices and corporate governance. Skills : Excellent verbal and written communication. Analysis and reporting. Marketing and stakeholder management. Leadership development. Operations management (planning, leading, organizing, and controlling). Programme/project management, tracking, and monitoring. Customer service and management experience. Coordination and integration of teams and activities. Financial and commercial management. Business assurance and compliance management. Business performance management, including performance scorecards and incentives. Strategic risk and resilience management. Employee relations and human resources management. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant applications. Key Responsibilities Provide strategic leadership in Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) to support high-impact business objectives. Manage and lead the Development Foundation’s service delivery, ensuring alignment with policies, frameworks, and methodologies while achieving stakeholder satisfaction. Drive CSR effectiveness and foundation performance by offering strategic support to enhance decision-making and business improvement initiatives. Establish and manage key internal and external stakeholder relationships to position the organization as a leading corporate citizen. Ensure the effective management of resources within the Development Foundation.
