Job Summary

Job description: The Electrical department currently has a vacancy for a methodical, attentive to detail individual to join their team. The duties and responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following: Installation, wiring and mounting of various electronic devices, machines or equipment Installation and programming of access control systems, CCTV cameras and motorized entrance points Installation, fault finding, relocation and fitment of all telecommunications Fitting and testing of data cables for all network points and power skirting Assist in moving offices and setting up PC’s, Phone lines, and moving files Mounting, wiring and fitting grids for wireless infrastructure Day to day maintenance, installation and servicing of security and data equipment Tool and equipment maintenance Adhoc activities as requested by Manager Provide guidance and mentorship to Semi-Skilled team members as and when required Housekeeping Understanding of and abiding by the regulations as set out in the Occupational Health and Safety Act Qualifying Criteria: Minimum Grade 12 education or equivalent Relevant certifications or qualification in the Electrical field Minimum of 5 years’ relevant experience Basic electric/electronic, CCTV, intercom, data or alarm courses Proven IP and analogue camera, alarm, automation, data cabling, electric fencing, intercoms, UPS and Alternating Current electrical knowledge Knowledge of data cabinet wiring Knowledge and experience working with power tools Valid driver’s license Must be prepared to work overtime when required Qualifying Attributes: Hands on practical approach to the job Strength to handle materials and tools (physically fit) Good hand-eye coordination Ability to work under challenging conditions Able to work at heights Able to work in confined spaces Hard-working and self-motivated Good time and priority management Display a professional work approach Proven team player Logical and detail orientated Excellent standards of execution Please note that the successful candidate will receive a formal, written offer of employment after all applicable pre-employment checks have been completed.
