WatersEdge Solutions is partnering with a leading long-term insurance provider to recruit a Financial Accountant to support financial operations and reporting for a dynamic insurance organisation. Role Overview
- Oversee financial reporting, budgeting, and auditing processes.
- Ensure accurate financial records and compliance with tax and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain financial controls and support business decision-making through strategic financial insights.
- Collaborate with various teams to enhance financial efficiency and operational success.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Management & Reporting
- Prepare monthly and annual financial statements, VAT returns, and tax submissions.
- Assist with audit engagements and compliance reviews.
- Maintain accurate financial records using Sage Business Cloud Accounting.
- Perform daily transaction capturing and bank reconciliations.
- Process supplier invoices, creditor payments, and requisitions.
- Ensure timely VAT reconciliations and monthly financial reporting.
Payroll Administration
- Process monthly payroll using Payspace and manage related statutory submissions.
- Handle UIF, Workmans Compensation, and other labor-related compliance.
- Reconcile payroll accounts and staff benefits.
- Address payroll-related queries and complete ad-hoc payroll tasks as needed.
Audit & Compliance
- Facilitate internal and external audits, ensuring all regulatory requirements are met.
- Oversee tax compliance, including VAT, income tax, and other statutory obligations.
Cash Flow & Treasury Management
- Monitor cash flow and maintain optimal liquidity levels.
- Manage banking relationships and oversee payment processing.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, or a related field.
- SAIPA or CA qualification is an advantage.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in financial management.
- Proficiency in Sage Business Cloud Accounting and Microsoft 365.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
