About the Role
The Head Strategic Sourcing role is a critical position that ensures the effective execution of strategic sourcing principles to elevate organisational SCM maturity. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving cost savings, improving processes, and delivering projects within scope, cost, quality, and performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement strategic sourcing strategy
- Develop and implement procurement/demand plan
- Determine and develop appropriate sources of supply for specific spend categories
- Build and maintain relationships with strategic suppliers
- Develop and maintain a knowledge management hub for category trends and technologies
- Improve processes
- Analyse and reduce Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) and life cycle cost
- Increase the value year on year of materials/services sourced
- Ensure that commodity strategies are communicated, executed, and updated
- Drive technology optimisation
- Review and report on achievement of business unit objectives
- Execute Continuous Improvement projects to support SCM business goals and objectives
- Drive a superior performance culture and stakeholder management culture
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Financial, Procurement/Supply Chain Management or equivalent qualification
- Post Graduate Degree in Business, Financial, Procurement/Supply Chain Management or equivalent qualification recommended
- 8 years experience in Procurement/ Supply Chain Management of which 4 years should be on Management Level
