Responsibilities:

Oversee the Import Process: Manage the entire import operation, from order placement to product delivery, ensuring compliance with regulations and timely execution. Supplier & Logistics Coordination: Build and maintain relationships with suppliers, freight forwarders, and customs agents to ensure efficient import operations. Forecasting & Inventory Management: Collaborate with internal teams to ensure accurate inventory forecasting and stock management. Documentation Management: Process and file all necessary import documentation, such as bills of lading, invoices, and shipping documents, accurately and efficiently. Freight Rate Negotiation: Negotiate competitive freight rates and terms with suppliers and logistics providers. Purchase Order Management: Review and approve purchase orders, ensuring alignment with budgetary and financial objectives. Cost & Tariff Monitoring: Monitor import costs, tariffs, and duties to control expenses and maximize profitability. Performance Tracking & Reporting: Track and analyze import performance, providing regular reports and recommendations for process improvements. Compliance with Regulations: Ensure compliance with import regulations, customs laws, and trade requirements, including documentation and certifications. Process Improvement: Implement strategies to streamline import operations, reducing lead times and improving efficiency. Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor the import team, fostering professional growth and team performance. Minimum Qualifications & Experience: Bachelors Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, International Trade, or a related field. 5 years of experience in an import management role, with at least 2 years in a managerial position. Strong knowledge of import regulations, customs requirements, and international shipping. Solid understanding of financial processes, including purchase order management. Proficiency in SAP and Microsoft Office , particularly Excel . Excellent negotiation, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks under pressure and meet deadlines. Strong leadership abilities with a focus on team development and performance. Experience in the retail, FMCG, or supply chain industries. Knowledge of global trade practices and emerging trends in import/export regulations.
