About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Industrial Relations Officer to join our team in Johannesburg. As a key member of our HR department, you will play a critical role in managing disciplinary hearings, grievances, disputes, and CCMA cases. You will provide guidance on IR matters in line with South African labour legislation, support wage negotiations, conflict resolution, and strike prevention strategies. Key Responsibilities
- Assist in managing disciplinary hearings, grievances, disputes, and CCMA cases
- Support the IR Manager as liaison between management, employees, unions, and bargaining councils
- Provide guidance on IR matters in line with LRA, BCEA, OHSA, and other labour legislation
- Support wage negotiations, conflict resolution, and strike prevention strategies
- Help implement IR policies, procedures, and training programs across sites
- Maintain accurate case files and reports for senior management
- Assist in workshops and training sessions for managers on IR best practices
Requirements
- 3-5 years proven Industrial Relations experience (ideally within services, security, or facilities industries)
- Relevant IR or HR qualification (Diploma or Degree)
- Strong knowledge of South African labour legislation, CCMA processes, and bargaining council practices
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills
- Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities
Qualifications
- Valid drivers license and own vehicle (travel between sites required)
Salary & Benefits
- Competitive package: R25 000 – R35 000 CTC per month (based on experience and qualification)
- Benefits include provident fund, reimbursed travel, and cellphone allowance
