About the Role

The Butler position at Craven Cottage CC is a key role that requires exceptional service skills, attention to detail, and a genuine passion for delivering outstanding guest experiences. As a dedicated butler, you will be responsible for ensuring the comfort and satisfaction of our guests from arrival to departure.

Key Responsibilities

  • Acknowledges, welcomes, and greets guests
  • Escorts guests to their accommodation
  • Full orientation of guest’s room
  • Offers to explain detailed services and facilities to guests
  • Provides personalised services, demonstrating a sense of urgency, priority and dedication
  • Request drink preferences from guests before game drive and advise the rangers on the guest’s requests
  • Offer unique dining experiences in the lodge grounds and coordinate the celebrations
  • Displays a polite and gracious manner
  • Anticipates and responds to guest requests and liaises with respective departments to expedite the delivery of the requested products and service
  • Follows up on all guest requests until these are fully satisfied
  • Able to spontaneously engage in formal and natural conversation with guests on current affairs
  • Serves guests in a calm, discreet and courteous manner
  • Offers prompt service without appearing rushed, flustered or hurried
  • Checks with guests to ensure satisfaction with food, beverage and other services that were offered
  • Communicates any allergies, preferences, likes and dislikes to the concerned dept(s) and person(s)
  • Notices and communicates opportunities to further improve quality standards
  • Maintains and updates records of guest’s preferences, likes and dislikes as appropriate without compromising their privacy
  • Contributes to the implementation of ongoing and continuous improvements
  • Completes a detailed pre-arrival inspection of all rooms, amenities and facilities that are available to guest during their stay
  • Acknowledges and bids farewell to departing guests using the appropriate levels of discretion

Requirements

  • Grade 12
  • At least 2 years 5* experience in a similar role with a food & beverage and / or housekeeping background
  • Ability to effectively communicate with others in English
  • Committed to providing exceptional levels of service to others
  • Teamwork, Cross departmental Collaboration
  • Ability to correctly communicate detailed information and instruction to others
  • Proficient in POS
