Our client in the gambling and betting industry is in search of a Junior IT Technical Project Manager. The role is on site based in Sandton. Travel maybe required into Africa. Fixed Term Contract 12 months subject to renewal Duties & Responsibilities Purpose of the Job: Must possess only IT project management experience. Software Project management will be added advantage. The Project Specialist ensures that the project is delivered on time, to budget (where applicable) and to the required quality standard (within 6agreed specifications). He/she ensures the project is effectively resourced and manages relationships with a wide range of Groups (including all project contributors). The Project Specialist is also responsible for managing the work of Staff and Consultants, allocating and utilising resources in an efficient manner and maintaining a co-operative, motivated and successful team. Arranging meetings (including weekly Project Status Meetings), providing weekly Project Status Reports and includes agendas, minutes and attendance registers Working closely with users to ensure the project meets business needs providing regular (weekly) Project Status Reports to Executives, HODs and Service Providers. Project Execution Management Direct and manage general project execution Perform QA activities Acquire project team Develop project team Manage project team Distribute information Manage stakeholder expectations Recording and managing project issues and escalating where necessary Resolving cross-functional issues at project level. Arranging meetings (including weekly Project Status Meetings), providing weekly Project Status Reports and includes agendas, minutes and attendance registers Working closely with users to ensure the project meets business needs providing regular (weekly) Project Status Reports to Executives, HODs and Service Providers. Project Monitoring and Control Monitor and control project work Perform integrated change control Verify and control project scope Control project schedules Perform Quality Control Report on team and project performance Monitor and control risks Attend to all administration and reporting relating to procurement Project Close-out Close Project or phase Lessons Learnt session and documentation Early life support of 2 weeks or more if required to all completed projects Administrative Responsibilities Documentation filing (manual and electronic) Desired Experience & Qualification ACADEMIC QUALIFICATION (S) NQF Level: NQF Level 6: Diploma Qualifications Required : Diploma in Project Management · Qualifications Preferred: Project Management qualification such as Prince II Foundation RELEVANT EXPERIENCE Experience Required: 3-5 years experience as a Project Specialist Experience Preferred: 5-7 years experience in a Projects roles in the gaming or lottery industry
