Johannesburg: Life Actuary Manager

Key Responsibilities: Lead and deliver multiple actuarial projects across life insurance and reinsurance clients. Manage, mentor, and develop a team of analysts and actuarial associates. Partner with clients to deliver strategic, technical, and business insights. Review actuarial models, assumptions, and methodologies to ensure accuracy and compliance. Contribute to business development and the firms broader strategic initiatives. Job Experience and Skills Required: Education: Nearly or newly qualified FASSA (or equivalent). Experience: Currently working in actuarial consulting (non-negotiable). 57 years of actuarial experience, primarily within life insurance . Proven leadership or people management experience. Exposure to IFRS 17, embedded value, or capital projects advantageous. Skills: Advanced Excel skills; Prophet, R, Python, or SQL advantageous. Strong communication and relationship management abilities. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, client-facing environment . Other: Hybrid working model with flexibility.
