Johannesburg: Microwave Transmission Network Technical Engineer

Key Responsibilities Design, Implementation, & Integration: Lead the configuration, and integration of Microwave systems with Nokia CTN and Huawei CTN nodes. Integrate new microwave links into the core transmission network. Perform network expansions and hardware/software upgrades with minimal service impact. Operations & Maintenance (O&M): Provide expert-level technical support and troubleshooting for complex faults across the transmission network (Nokia CTN, Huawei OptiX, and Microwave). Monitor network performance, analyze trends, and proactively identify potential issues. Perform root cause analysis (RCA) for critical outages and implement corrective actions. Configuration & Provisioning : Provision and manage end-to-end services (E-Line, E-LAN, E-Tree) on the Nokia CTN (NFM-T) platform. Configure and manage SDH/OTN paths and channels on Huawei OptiX equipment (U2000/NCE). Configure and optimize new microwave links, including RF planning support and capacity management. Requirement: 5 years’ experience in Transmission Network Engineering. Strong hands-on expertise in Nokia CTN (NFM-T) and Huawei OptiX (U2000/NCE). Solid knowledge of Microwave transmission systems and integration with CTN. Experience in service provisioning (E-Line, E-LAN, E-Tree) and SDH/OTN configuration. Proven ability in troubleshooting, RCA, network expansion, and upgrades. Good understanding of RF planning basics and capacity optimization. Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
