Job Description
A leading mining company is looking for an experienced Superintendent Category Management with strong expertise in category and commodity management, cost control, and supplier coordination to join their team in the Northern Cape. The successful candidate will play a key role in managing strategies to improve costs, service, and quality across operations while ensuring compliance, governance, and performance optimization.
Responsibilities:

Manage commodity and category strategies to drive cost savings and efficiency.

Oversee contractual improvements, compliance, and governance processes.

Ensure data integrity and quality management in supply chain operations.

Optimize planning, resource utilization, and stock management.
-
Control budgets and costs effectively.
-
Provide customer support and manage people within the team.
-
Ensure adherence to safety, health, environment, and legal requirements.
-
Drive change management initiatives and manage resistance effectively.
-
Foster collaboration, networking, and stakeholder engagement.
Requirements:
-
Bachelors Degree (NQF Level 7) in Logistics, Supply Chain, Finance, or Engineering.

Minimum of 5 years operational experience in category/commodity management within a mining, plant, manufacturing, or similar environment.

Minimum of 3 years supervisory experience.
-
Strong commercial awareness and financial acumen.
-
Proficiency in MS Office and ERP systems.
-
Excellent interpersonal, leadership, and collaboration skills.
-
Ability to manage risk, allocate resources effectively, and embrace change.
-
Valid drivers license.
-
Medically fit as per Mine Health and Safety Act requirements.
