Our client is seeking a proactive Accounts Payable Manager to oversee the daily operations of their Accounts Payable (AP) function within a fast-paced, global Shared Services environment.

In this leadership role, you will ensure seamless processing of supplier invoices, accurate vendor reconciliations, and delivery of exceptional service to internal and external stakeholders. 

This role is based in Bryanston, Johannesburg North.

Key Responsibilities:
As the Accounts Payable Manager, you will oversee the full AP function, including:

• Managing day-to-day operations of the AP team, ensuring SLA compliance and accurate processing.
• Reviewing and approving supplier and intercompany reconciliations, addressing discrepancies promptly.
• Partnering closely with operational teams to resolve queries and support business continuity.
• Overseeing payment processes and ensuring compliance with financial policies and procedures.
• Monitoring team performance, reporting on KPIs, and driving continuous improvement.
• Leading team training, development, and coaching for enhanced performance.
• Managing vendor communication, handling escalations, and resolving supplier complaints.
• Overseeing onboarding of new suppliers and ensuring compliance across regions/time zones.
• Performing and verifying AP transactions, including invoices, expenses, and allocations.
• Supporting audits and completing AP-related administrative and reporting tasks.

Job Experience and Skills Required:
To excel in this role, you should bring:

• 5+ years’ experience in a similar Accounts Payable management role.
• 3+ years’ experience managing a Shared Services AP team.
• Proven track record managing large teams (10–15 people).
• Strong background in invoice processing, reconciliations, and financial administration.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Teams) with intermediate Excel skills.
• Solid understanding of basic accounting principles.
• Excellent attention to detail, communication skills, and problem-solving ability.
• Ability to work across multiple regions and adjust work hours to support global teams.

My client is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join a high-performing Finance shared-service environment. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented finance professional with strong leadership capabilities and a solid background in accounts payable operations across multiple regions.
 
Reporting to the Head of FP&A and Transformation, the Senior Accountant will oversee the day-to-day activities of the Accounts Payable function, ensuring accurate processing, strong controls, and consistent service delivery. You will act as a key finance partner to operational teams while leading, coaching, and developing a sizeable AP team.
 
Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee daily accounts payable operations and ensure agreed service levels are met
• Review and sign off supplier and intercompany reconciliations
• Act as a finance accountability partner to operations teams
• Process and release outgoing payments in line with financial policies and procedures
• Monitor team performance and report key KPIs to senior management
• Train, coach, and develop accounts payable team members
• Prepare and report on the status of vendor accounts and resolve discrepancies
• Manage supplier queries and complaints, ensuring timely communication and resolution
• Escalate unresolved issues appropriately
• Perform day-to-day AP processing, including verification, classification, and posting of supplier invoices
• Onboard new suppliers in accounting and banking systems in line with regional procedures
• Ensure timely and accurate processing of intercompany invoices
• Process employee expense claims in compliance with company policies
• Ensure correct allocation of expenses to cost centres and accounts
• Support finance-related administrative tasks and audit requests
• Structure work hours to ensure continuity across multiple global time zones

Job Experience and Skills Required:
Completed Bcom in Finance
Completed SAIPA articles
Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar finance or accounts payable role
At least 3 years’ experience managing a shared-service team
Proven experience managing teams of 10–15 staff
Strong background in invoice processing and data capture
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, MS Teams)
Intermediate Excel skills
Solid understanding of basic accounting principles
High attention to detail with strong problem-solving ability
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
