A leading player in the renewable energy space is looking for a Senior Business Development Manager to drive large-scale solar opportunities across South Africa and the region. This role is ideal for a seasoned professional with deep networks in the solar PV industry and a proven track record of securing high-value projects.

Non-Negotiable Requirements

• Relevant tertiary qualification (Engineering, Business, or Energy focus preferred)
• Minimum 8–10 years’ experience in business development within the solar/renewables sector
• Proven success in closing large-scale commercial and industrial solar projects
• Strong network with developers, EPCs, financiers, and end clients in the energy space
• Excellent understanding of solar project development, financing, and tender processes
• Ability to travel and engage stakeholders at executive level

Job Experience & Skills Required

• Identify, pursue, and secure new business opportunities in commercial, industrial, and utility-scale solar PV
• Lead negotiations, bids, and proposals from concept through to project closure
• Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders across the solar ecosystem
• Collaborate with technical, legal, and financial teams to structure competitive solutions
• Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and conferences
• Deliver on revenue targets and actively grow market share in the renewables space
