Johannesburg North: Hospital Engineering Manager posted by Network Finance

We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Engineering Manager to oversee the maintenance, safety, and operational efficiency of our hospital’s engineering services and infrastructure.

As the Hospital Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for managing the hospital’s engineering department, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, overseeing planned and reactive maintenance, and supporting capital projects. You will lead a team of engineers and technicians and liaise with clinical and non-clinical departments to ensure a safe, functional, and compliant environment for patients, staff, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage the day-to-day operations of the hospital’s engineering and maintenance team.
• Develop and implement planned preventative maintenance (PPM) schedules.
• Oversee reactive maintenance and emergency repairs.
• Support infrastructure projects, refurbishments, and equipment installations.
• Manage engineering budgets and procurement of maintenance services and supplies.
• Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) for the department.
• Ensure all engineering systems operate efficiently, reliably, and safely.

Requirements:

• Degree or HND/HNC in Mechanical, Electrical, or Building Services Engineering (or equivalent).
• Proven experience in a senior engineering role within a healthcare or similar critical environment.
• Strong knowledge of health and safety legislation, compliance standards, and risk management.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Experience managing budgets and external contractors.
