• Accounting: Contribute to accurate financial reporting by collecting and processing accounts efficiently and in accordance with treaty terms. Apply relevant legislation and guidelines such as VAT and Sanctions; prepare cedent reconciliations; follow up on outstanding accounts; obtain and reconcile performance-based commissions; and analyse treaty statistics to recommend adjustments where appropriate.
• Claims: Support effective capital management by processing claims information accurately, ensuring reserves are updated and relevant.
• Credit Control: Strengthen financial stability by ensuring balances receivable are collected timeously, large payments are advised to stakeholders, and reconciled payments are processed when due.
• Data Quality Management: Enhance data accuracy by engaging underwriters to correct treaty encoding discrepancies (e.g. signed shares, VAT conditions, brokerage and commission percentages, etc.).
• Communication & Stakeholder Management: Collaborate and communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, including Underwriting, Actuarial, and Finance teams, providing critical updates and resolving account queries efficiently.

Job Experience and Skills Required:

• Education: Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related qualification (essential)
• Experience: Minimum of 2–4 years’ experience in a finance environment (essential); prior experience within insurance or reinsurance preferred
• Technical Skills: Sound understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting principles (debits, credits, income, expenses, assets, and liabilities)
• Core Competencies: Strong reconciliation skills, accuracy under pressure, and proficiency in MS Excel and accounting systems
