Job Description
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all nightshift packhouse operations to ensure production targets are met accurately and efficiently.
- Lead, manage, and motivate a team of ±40 employees across packing, quality control, and dispatch.
- Ensure strict compliance with food safety, hygiene, quality, and cold chain standards.
- Monitor production schedules and coordinate workflow to optimise efficiency during the night.
- Manage inventory, minimise waste, and ensure optimal product freshness for next-day distribution.
- Maintain tracking systems for output, labour, rejects, downtime, and performance indicators.
- Collaborate with logistics, procurement, and production teams to ensure next-day readiness.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity, accuracy, and operational consistency.
Requirements
- 3–5 years’ experience in a packhouse, production, FMCG, or operations environment.
- Proven experience managing teams of 30+ employees, ideally within shift or night operations.
- A tertiary qualification in Operations, Production, or Agriculture is advantageous.
- Strong knowledge of HACCP, food safety, cold chain management, and packhouse operations.
- Excellent communication, planning, and leadership skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and basic production/packhouse systems.
- Must have reliable transport due to late-night working hours.
