Job Summary
SOLUTIONS ARCHITECT | JOHANNESBURG R1,500,000 CTC PER ANNUM Our client is a leading full-service commercial Bank, is looking for a Solutions Architect to join their team. The company operates across ten African countries, the UAE and UK, with representative offices in China, India and Lebanon. Theyre evolving to redefine the power of relationship. JOB MISSION: The candidate will own the design and development of enterprise scalable system using data, microservices and leading-edge marketing technology to improve business outcomes. The Solutions architect must have some technical knowledge of at least one programming object-oriented or functional programming, and be comfortable working with languages like C#, Java, JavaScript, Python and must understand both relational and non-relational databases. Skills and experience in Azure or AWS cloud technologies working with domain-driven design, event driven architecture, and Kubernetes will be required to design digital solutions for the bank and its customers. REPORTS TO: Head: Technology and Digital YOUR DAY TO DAY Solutions Design: Responsible for designing new solutions and documenting deliverables(Product team, IT team, business heads, Operations and Audit) Drafting of architectures for new, existing and project deliverables Engagement with the development team and optimize the value of the work they perform Stakeholder Engagement: Coordinate technology decisions with other Product owners, Business Owners and development teams to ensure standards are adhered to Work closely with both internal and external stakeholders to build a deep understanding of product requirements, analyze customer business needs and translate into product solutions Innovation in identifying process to be automated Effective Career Development Innovation and learning Team Orientation Business
Requirements:
Participate in refining and approve requirements from your product team colleagues (user stories, functional and non-functional requirements, acceptance criteria, in scope and out of scope criteria, test cases) Be part of the release planning and drive the release through user acceptance testing and stakeholder approval for release Business Planning and Decision Making: Interact with the companys process and business owners to understand requirement, specifications and expected outcomes Implementing solutions in respect of business requirements, within agreed timelines Policies and Procedures: Reporting Requirements Specification Solution design and documentation Testing and release management People Management: No direct staff reporting to this position Managing report owners and users, especially their expectations Managing own learning and development Contacts and Business Relationships: Internal: Business Heads Risk and Compliance Head of Technology & Digital Development Manager Senior Manager: Banking systems External: External Auditors External developers and software houses IMPACT ON BUSINESS RESULTS: The role has a direct impact on business results as it be involvement designing, prioritizing business solutions, coordinating development efforts and managing solutions life-cycle across the organization FIGURES AFFECTED BY THE ROLE (KPIS): Quantitative User stories Business Requirements Roadmaps Qualitative Architecture artefacts Solution Designs architecture MINIMUM ROLE REQUIREMENTS: Tertiary level qualification (BSc Computer Science/BCom informatics) or 3 years Diploma/Degree in Information Technology TOGAF and cloud (AWS or Azure) certification 5 years` experience in IT Delivery, including a minimum of 2 years` experience in architecture 4 years` experience in solution design 4 years` experience as a Solutions Architect Financial Services experience Experience must be in designing end-to-end and full stack End-to-end – able to design solution, which includes all components, ensuring that all end users are services correctly in production Full stack – able to design for each component within the solution addressing the functional (application), non-functional (platform) and infrastructure and cloud services Experience implementing Microservices architecture and ESB solutions SKILLS/ SPECIALIZED KNOW HOW: Strong architecture experience Strong software development understanding Openshift / Kubernetes / Docker Integration via REST, SOAP and messaging platforms (eg IBM MQ) Strong database / SQL Server experience CI/CD pipelines, eg, Jenkins Ability to deal with complexity, ambiguity and constant change Financial Services solutions environment Business Process Modelling skills (IDEF-0, Financial Modelling, Enterprise Architect, BPMN, etc) TOGAF / ZACHMAN Architectural principles COMPETENCIES: Critical thinking and problem-solving skills Planning and organizing Decision making Communication skills Influencing and leading Teamwork Conflict management Adaptability Quality and attention to details Good documentation skills
