Job Description
As a Project Manager, you will be responsible for the end-to-end management of retail store buildouts, from initial concept through to final delivery. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including architects, designers, contractors, and vendors, to ensure the seamless execution of retail construction projects. Your keen attention to detail will be critical in ensuring that the buildouts are completed on time, within budget, and to specification.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the planning, execution, and completion of retail store buildout projects.
- Develop detailed project plans, timelines, and budgets, and monitor progress against these plans.
- Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders, including architects, designers, general contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers.
- Ensure adherence to project specifications, brand standards, and quality requirements.
- Review design and construction documents for accuracy, identifying potential issues before they arise.
- Oversee the procurement and management of materials, equipment, and services required for the buildout.
- Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress, ensure quality control, and resolve any issues.
- Troubleshoot and resolve any challenges or delays in the project timeline.
- Ensure compliance with local regulations, safety standards, and building codes.
- Track project milestones and report regularly to senior management on project status, risks, and outcomes.
- Manage project budget and ensure costs are kept under control while maintaining high quality.
- Ensure smooth handover of completed retail stores to operations teams, with all necessary documentation and operational processes in place.
- Must have a key eye for detail and ensure that minimal issues are prevalent with the buildout, ensuring the build is inline with the company approved specification.
Desired Experience & Qualification
- Proven experience as a Project Manager in retail construction, retail buildouts, or similar fields.
- Strong understanding of retail design, construction processes, and project management.
- Exceptional attention to detail with a passion for delivering high-quality results.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Solid knowledge of construction management software and project management tools (Revit and AutoCAD)
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and external partners.
- Problem-solving and decision-making capabilities in high-pressure situations.
- Ability to navigate complex projects while maintaining focus on timelines and budget.
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, or a related field is advantageous and a plus but not a requirement.
- PMP (Project Management Professional) certification is a plus.
- Valid drivers license and ability to travel to various retail sites as needed.
