Johannesburg: Quality Assurance Engineer

You will take ownership of testing strategy and execution across features and end-to-end journeys, ensuring that every release meets rigorous quality, security, and performance standards. Working closely with engineering, product, and security teams, you will help shape a quality-first culture while driving automation, improving test coverage, and supporting continuous delivery practices. What You’ll Do Define and execute test strategies across features, services, and customer journeys Develop and maintain test plans, cases, and supporting documentation Perform functional, regression, integration, and end-to-end testing Build and enhance test automation across API, UI, and service layers Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines Drive non-functional testing including performance and reliability Support security validation aligned to recognised frameworks Manage defects through full lifecycle including triage and resolution Contribute to Agile ceremonies with a strong quality mindset What You Bring Strong analytical thinking and ability to translate requirements into test scenarios Solid understanding of the full software testing lifecycle Experience with test automation tools and frameworks Strong API and data validation skills Familiarity with version control systems such as Git Knowledge of application security testing principles and frameworks Clear communication skills with the ability to report on quality and risk Relevant degree or equivalent experience in software testing or engineering 4–10 years’ experience depending on level What Success Looks Like High-confidence releases with minimal production defects Increased automation coverage and faster feedback cycles Strong alignment between testing, security, and delivery practices Clear visibility of quality metrics and release readiness Continuous improvement in testing processes and team collaboration
