Johannesburg: Research and Development Engineer

Key Responsibilities: Design, develop and test new mechanical products, systems, or components Conduct research to support innovation, cost reduction, and performance improvement initiatives Prepare technical specifications, drawings, and design documentation Build prototypes and oversee testing, validation, and refinement processes Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including manufacturing, quality, and project management Ensure that designs comply with the relevant engineering standards and regulations Support the transition of designs from R&D to production Minimum Requirements: BEng in Mechanical Engineering (essential) 25 years experience in a research, design, or product development environment Strong understanding of mechanical design principles and materials Proficiency in CAD software (e.g. SolidWorks, Inventor, or similar) Strong analytical, problem-solving, and innovation skills Ability to work independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team Apply now!
