About the Role
As a Reservationist at our establishment in Johannesburg, you will be responsible for handling reservations and bookings for guests and customers, as well as responding to inquiries and resolving any issues that may arise. You will provide excellent customer service, ensuring prompt and courteous assistance with all guest inquiries.
Key Responsibilities
- Deal with reservation enquiries, bookings, deposits, cancellations, confirmations, pro-formats procedure
- Handle waitlists and complimentary reservations as per procedure
- Ensure that provisional bookings are followed up
- Check for double bookings
- Maximize occupancy with liaison of the reservationists, Reservations Manager, and the General Manager
- Maintain good relations with all other departments
- Balance occupancies daily
- Ensure that all filing is up to date
- Maintain guest history as per procedure
- Adhere to credit policy
- Follow up on travel agent voucher correspondence and other documentation that might be outstanding
- Ensure the smooth running of the reservations department
- Check arrivals
- Check groups
- Check payment received daily
- Complete and send daily reports to accordingly
- Check up on no shows and cancellations
Requirements
- Proficient in Office and Email Res Request or similar reservations system
- Minimum 3 years experience
- Semper (or similar reservations system) experience essential
