Risk Operations Business Analyst required in Sandton for a leading investment bank with a strong market presence and their people are the greatest asset, the culture is built on collaboration and empowerment. This role requires a highly motivated and experienced Business Analyst to join the Risk Management team and will be responsible for understanding, documenting, and optimising risk management processes and systems, ensuring alignment with business needs and regulatory requirements. Please note that this will be a 12 month contract role.

Key

• Develop and maintain detailed documentation of risk management processes, systems, and requirements.
• Conduct stakeholder interviews, workshops, and meetings to elicit, analyse, and document business requirements.
• Develop proposals for targeted operational improvements, including process optimisation, platform enhancements, and leveraging data and group capabilities.
• Determine the impact of proposed projects on risk functions and supporting systems.
• Perform impact assessments of new requirements on upstream and downstream systems.
• Document end-to-end risk process flows, capturing activities, resources, and performance measures.
• Define reporting requirements, functional and process specifications for risk management solutions.
• Analyse business processes and system requirements, proposing solutions for optimisation.
• Ensure projects within the risk business architecture are aligned and delivered effectively.
• Assist technical designers in translating business requirements into detailed technical specifications.

Requirements and Qualifications:

• Bachelor`s degree in a related field (e.g., Business, Finance, Information Systems).
• Proven experience as a Business Analyst, preferably within the financial services industry, with a focus on risk management.
• Strong understanding of risk management principles, frameworks, and regulations.
• Experience in conducting stakeholder engagement, requirements elicitation, and process mapping.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
