Job Summary

The Group currently has a vacancy for a fast paced and accurate Small Scales Operator to join the team. The successful candidate will assist with buying of Non-Ferrous and Ferrous metals at the Small Scales Department situated at the Elandsfontein yard in Gauteng. The successful candidate will report to the Production Manager. He/she will also have to: POSITION REQUIREMENTS Weigh incoming scrap metal Correctly identify and grade incoming scrap metal Have experience using and analysing the handheld spectrometer Capture correct data on to the small scales system Direct bins to the appropriate offloading areas Be honest to the Company and to the company’s customers at all times Be able to work under pressure Pay attention to detail Be able to work both in a team and as an individual QUALIFYING EXPERIENCE A minimum Grade 12 certificate Basic mathematical skills Knowledge of different types and grades of metals Minimum of 5 years’ experience in scrap metal Computer literacy QUALIFYING ATTRIBUTES Excellent verbal and written communication skills Able to liaise professionally with customers and colleagues Ability to follow instructions Strong sense of honesty Applicants are invited to e-mail a detailed CV and a motivational letter, outlining relevant experience, to the HR Department
