As Senior Manager Private Markets, youll lead the charge in uncovering high-potential opportunities across private equity, venture capital, and other alternative assets. From crafting bold investment strategies to steering in-depth due diligence and cultivating strong relationships with top-tier stakeholders, this role puts you at the forefront of innovation in the private markets space. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Investment Strategy and Process: Develop and implement private market investment strategies, policies and processes aligned with RMAs overall investment objectives. Identify and evaluate new investment opportunities in private equity, venture capital, and other alternative asset classes. Conduct thorough market research and analysis to inform investment decisions. Portfolio Management: Monitor and manage existing private market investments. Perform regular portfolio reviews and risk assessments. Develop and implement exit strategies for investments when appropriate. Due Diligence: Lead comprehensive due diligence processes for potential investments. Analyze financial statements, business models, and market conditions. Assess potential risks and returns associated with investment opportunities. Relationship Management: Build and maintain relationships with general partners, fund managers, and other key players in the private markets ecosystem. Represent RMA at industry events and conferences. Collaborate with internal teams, including legal, compliance, and risk management. Manage relationship with external service providers. Reporting and Analysis: Prepare detailed investment reports and recommendations for senior management and investment committees. Develop and maintain performance metrics and benchmarks for private market investments. Contribute to the overall asset allocation and portfolio construction process. Team Leadership: Manage and mentor a team of investment professionals. Foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement within the team. Collaborate with other departments to ensure alignment with RMAs overall objectives. REQUIRED SKILLS: Investment Expertise: In-depth knowledge of private equity, venture capital, and other alternative asset classes. Strong understanding of financial modelling, valuation techniques, and risk assessment. Familiarity with various investment structures and terms in private markets. Analytical Skills: Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities. Proficiency in financial analysis software and tools. Ability to interpret complex financial data and market trends. Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to present complex investment ideas clearly and concisely. Strong negotiation and interpersonal skills. Leadership: Proven ability to lead and motivate teams. Strategic thinking and decision-making capabilities. Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines. Industry Knowledge: Deep understanding of financial markets and economic trends. Familiarity with regulatory environments affecting private markets investments. Network of industry contacts and relationships. Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint. Experience with financial databases and investment management software. Understanding of data analytics and its application in investment decision-making. EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum of 8-10 years investments experience, with at least 5 years private markets. Relevant Commerce/Finance degree. CA or equivalent. Proven track record of successful private markets investments. Experience in fund-of-funds management and direct co-investments. Demonstrated ability to lead and manage investment teams. Corporate finance experience would be an advantage. PACKAGE & REMUNERATION: Compensation will be determined based on qualifications, applicable experience, and previous earnings.
