About the Role

Hire Resolve’s client in Cape Town, WC is seeking an IT Support Technician to join their team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in maintaining the IT systems and providing exceptional technical support to internal users.

Key Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software issues for end-users.
  • Install, configure, and maintain the operating systems and software applications.
  • Provide technical support in person, via phone, or remotely.
  • Maintain inventory of IT equipment and software licenses.
  • Assist in network monitoring, user account management, and IT projects.
  • Document technical procedures and user guides for support processes.
  • Work closely with IT Teams to ensure systems are updated and maintained.
  • Participate in training and onboarding for new staff as needed.

Requirements

  • Matric / Grade 12 or equivalent qualification essential
  • Minimum 3 years relevant experience in a similar role
  • Good understanding of MS Server software and management thereof
  • Excellent understanding of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Understanding of Server software, its implementation and maintenance
  • Knowledge of Active Directory on MS Server
  • Creating of Users/Roles in a Domain environment
  • Understanding of TCP/IP
  • Strong Problem solving & Analytical skills
  • Technical understanding of IT infrastructures
  • Good knowledge of PC’s/Printers and fault finding
  • Communication skills (Verbal and Written)

About the Role

Hire Resolve is seeking a skilled IT Support Technician to join our client’s team, a leading industrial chemicals wholesaler in Cape Town. In this role, you will be responsible for troubleshooting and resolving a wide range of IT issues, working closely with the IT Manager to provide timely feedback and solutions within agreed-upon deadlines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and resolve desktop support issues.
  • Install and configure software, hardware, PCs, and laptops.
  • Ensure systems are backed up and maintained properly.
  • Document all tasks and duties related to IT support.
  • Provide remote management and support services.
  • Manage relationships with stakeholders, including suppliers and ISPs.
  • Offer first-line support by addressing frequently asked questions.
  • Maintain and update the website with product details and industry news.
  • Develop and maintain the management reporting application.

Requirements

  • IT-related degree or diploma (Advantageous)
  • Experience with web development platforms or languages (Advantageous)
  • Understanding of Server software implementation and maintenance.
  • Knowledge of Active Directory on MS Server.
  • Experience with creating Users/Roles in a Domain environment.
  • Understanding of TCP/IP.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Technical knowledge of IT infrastructures.
  • Proficient in PC and printer troubleshooting and fault-finding.
  • Strong communication skills (both verbal and written).
