Our client is looking for a Signalling Engineer – Department Head based in Randburg RESPONSIBILITIES Design, oversee, and manage various rail signal projects Co-ordinate with clients and rail signal project contractors Planning, designing and testing of rail signal infrastructure Apply theoretical and practical knowledge of electronics Review and approve technical designs Develop specifications, technical and financial aspects of tender documents and contracts Write-up of signalling methodologies for tender purposes Ensure compliance to all relevant railway standards and regulations Perform project / contract management Coordinate multi-disciplinary projects integrated with signalling Manage implementation and maintenance of the quality management system based on ISO 9001 Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs Willing to travel nationally and internationally from time to time QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE ECSA registration as a Professional Engineer / Professional Technologist B Sc / B-Tech Degree in Electrical / Electronic Engineering 15 years of relevant post education experience in engineering discipline Experience in transit and rail signalling projects Experience working with AutoCAD or MicroStation Strong understanding of South African requirements for project implementation Testing and commissioning of various signalling equipment Understanding of telecommunication systems i.e. SCADA, public address system, telephony, CCTV etc. would be advantageous BEHAVIOURAL QUALITIES Self-management Taking ownership Team player and open minded Initiative Confidentiality Establish and maintain high ethics and a culture of Integrity, Honesty and Professionalism
