Job Description Our client is looking to recruit a Legal Counsel with a proven record of client service and practical problem-solving approach to support their business and be a member of the Group Legal team. The successful candidate will need to be comfortable with commercial law, with an emphasis on tourism and hospitality related issues, with a global mindset and solutionist approach to challenges. They will engage with the companys various businesses and be exposed to a myriad of industries and territories in which the company operates, from foreign exchange to hotels and lodges, all that form part of the brand. Our client is a small and nimble team with high involvement in transactions from a legal perspective. The majority of commercial related work is done in-house with a limited reliance on external counsel depending on the matter requirements. You will be responsible for: Drafting, reviewing and assisting with the negotiation of various commercial contracts; Draft and drive transactional agreements including Share Purchase Agreements, Heads of Agreement, Sale of Business Agreements; Comfort working in foreign jurisdictions with an appetite to learn and apply knowledge gained frequently, and updating the business accordingly; Advise and attend to dispute resolution matters; Conduct legal research, draft opinions, and provide legal advice to the broader Company Group where required; Assist with the implantation of contract management software Create and communicate a plan to align all offices and ensure administrative consistency Create and distribute contract templates and checklists for all commercial contracts for all supplier services, ensuring uniformity whilst accounting for necessary regional variations Travel when required Qualifications LLB or BA/ BCom Law Degree Skills The successful candidate must have: Extensive commercial contract law knowledge and experience 2 years post admission experience at a well-established law firm, bar or in-house. A mixture of practice and in-house experience would be preferable, but not a requirement Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Software, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint Tourism industry experience would be preferable, but not required Benefits Medical aid and provident fund form part of the Cost To Company Package.
