About the Role
Our client, a well-established law firm with offices in Johannesburg North, is seeking a highly experienced Senior Bonds Secretary to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing FNB and RMB Complex Lending bonds as well as bond cancellations, ensuring all processes are handled efficiently and in accordance with bank and firm requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Attending to the full bond registration process for FNB and RMB bonds.
- Managing Complex Lending bond instructions from inception through to registration.
- Handling bond cancellations and related conveyancing processes.
- Liaising with banks, clients, attorneys, and other stakeholders throughout the transaction process.
- Preparing and drafting required documentation for bond registrations and cancellations.
- Monitoring and managing a high volume of conveyancing files while ensuring deadlines are met.
- Maintaining accurate records and ensuring compliance with banking and conveyancing procedures.
- Prioritising files effectively to ensure smooth workflow and turnaround times.
- Providing regular updates to clients and relevant stakeholders on the progress of matters.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years experience as a Bonds Secretary, specifically handling FNB bonds.
- Experience dealing with RMB Complex Lending bonds and bond cancellations.
- Exposure to Complex Lending will be advantageous.
- Experience working with Lotus Notes will be beneficial.
- Strong administrative and organizational skills.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to manage high volumes of files in a high-pressure environment.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to engage effectively with clients and banks.
Qualifications
Relevant conveyancing or legal secretarial qualification will be advantageous.
