Hire Resolve’s client is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Steel Buyer to join their team in the steel retail industry in Gauteng. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in procurement and a good understanding of the steel market.

Responsibilities:

• Source and purchase a variety of steel products based on company needs and budget requirements.
• Establish relationships with suppliers and negotiate pricing and terms of agreements.
• Monitor market trends and pricing to ensure competitive advantage.
• Coordinate with internal departments to determine steel requirements and order quantities.
• Manage inventory levels and ensure timely delivery of materials.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
• Evaluate supplier performance and provide feedback for improvement.
• Develop and maintain a database of suppliers and their product offerings.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in procurement, in the steel industry.
• Knowledge of steel products, grades, and specifications.
• Strong negotiation and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and other procurement software.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Valid driver’s license and own transportation.
