About the Role

A well-established aviation environment based in Johannesburg, Benoni is seeking a detail-driven Store Officer to take ownership of inventory control, receiving, issuing, and compliance within a regulated, high-pressure setting. This role suits someone who thrives on order, accuracy, and accountability, because in aviation, almost right is still wrong.

Key Responsibilities

  • Inventory Management: Accurately track all stock (parts, tools, consumables) using inventory systems; monitor stock levels, conduct regular audits, and manage stock rotation.
  • Receiving & Inspection: Receive incoming shipments, verify against purchase orders, inspect for damage or discrepancies, allocate batch numbers, and capture items accurately into the system.
  • Storage & Organisation: Ensure correct storage of items in designated locations; maintain clean, organised stockrooms; manage temperature/humidity for sensitive parts and handle hazardous materials correctly.
  • Issuing & Dispatching: Issue correct parts and quantities against documentation; prepare items for dispatch; manage paperwork for items sent for repair or disposal.
  • Compliance & Safety: Adhere strictly to aviation regulations, safety standards, and company procedures when handling, storing, and documenting aviation materials.
  • Documentation & Reporting: Maintain precise records of all stock movements, receipts, and withdrawals; manage shipping and receiving documentation; report discrepancies or risks to management.
  • Coordination: Work closely with sales, procurement, and purchasing teams to ensure timely availability of required components and stock.

Requirements

  • Strong organisational and record-keeping skills
  • Proficient in MS Office
  • Clear communication skills and practical problem-solving ability
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities
  • Physically fit to handle goods and operate equipment
  • Familiarity with aviation regulations and safety standards (advantage)
