About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Supply Chain Manager to lead our chemical raw materials logistics operations in Johannesburg. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in supply chain management, leadership, and problem-solving, with a focus on driving performance and delivering exceptional service.
Key Responsibilities
- Leading, coaching, and developing a team of inbound and outbound logistics coordinators
- Overseeing the end-to-end process of inbound and outbound logistics operations
- Identifying opportunities for improving logistics processes and implementing changes
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with suppliers, third-party logistics providers, and carriers
- Utilizing data analysis to monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and reporting on metrics such as delivery accuracy and transportation costs
- Applying lean principles and process improvement tools to enhance operational efficiency
- Overseeing inventory management practices and ensuring optimal stock levels
- Working closely with procurement, production, sales, and customer service teams to align logistics operations with organizational goals
- Ensuring compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and company safety policies during logistics operations
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Industrial Engineering or a related field
- Minimum 7 years experience in supply chain or logistics management, including at least 5 years in a leadership role
- Strong experience in clearing and forwarding
- Knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies (advantageous)
