Key Tasks (By KPA for clarity) Plan and set up systems infrastructure – Implement validated patches and updates – Configure web service platforms – Implement VM as per requirements of the business / product – Define and allocate IP addresses – Plan and report on VM host capacity within the company – Diagnose system faults Maintain high availability of systems infrastructure – Identify system evolution improvement requirements – Identify, test and recommend new and/or improved systems and usage – Identify, test and confirm hardware and software compatibilities – Collaborate with Network Administrators on corporate network design – Test and validate software patches and updates – Troubleshoot and resolve systems performance and access issues – Maintain robust security compliance (i.e. OS Updates, Anti-Virus updates/warnings) – Create, configure and maintain isolated (ring-fenced) virtual environments – Respond to and rectify system generated warnings, errors and failures – Recover server data from hardware failures – Recover end user data from hardware failures – Maintain physical (hardware) backup servers – Rebuild RAID on replacement storage hardware – Maintain web service platforms – Provide remote support to the IT support team/function Maintain continuous professional development on systems administration – Undertake ongoing research on prevailing and emerging systems technologies – Identify, test and recommend potential new/improved systems and technologies Perform general administrative duties – Check health status of daily server backups and replications – Provide and maintain single sign on security parameters for internal systems – Assign and document server and end user IP addresses – Conduct periodic, scheduled systems checks – Monitor system health indicators – Maintain currency of existing, scheduled systems licences – Document web services configurations – Interact and communicate professionally with vendors and managers Conduct Extraneous-to-IT Activities – Undertake UPS operational/functionality checks per prescribed checklist(s) – Check that OEM UPS suppliers maintenance regimes are completed per SLA 4. Essential Experience (Have-to-Have: Deal Breakers) – Minimum of 4 years experience in an IT Support role in a high paced, medium to large corporate environment – Previous/recent experience as a System Administrator in a high paced, medium to large corporate environment – Practical experience with server hardware – Applied experience with Dell and HP software 12. Desirable Experience (Nice-to-Have: Deal Enhancers) – Practical experience in Network Administration – Practicable experience with Infrastructure, Linux Server, Microsoft Systems – Hands on experience in Windows server 2019-2016, hyper v, Designing and Implementing a Server 13.
