About the Role
Hire Resolve’s Client is urgently seeking a talented and experienced TAF and E&S Manager to join their team, a leading pan-African investment bank. This full-time position will be based in Johannesburg, South Africa, and will involve significant travel. As a TAF and E&S Manager, you will play a pivotal role in managing the technical assistance facility (“TAF”) and ensuring robust environmental and social (E&S) risk management across our investment portfolio. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to contribute to the growth and sustainability of our investments in Inclusive Financial Institutions (IFIs) across Africa.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and evaluate relevant technical assistance (TA) projects for prospective portfolio companies, both during the investment process and post-investment.
- Lead the onboarding process for new TA projects, including proposal preparation, consultant selection, budget negotiations, and project coordination.
- Oversee all reporting and monitoring functions, including specific reporting to key TAF funders, measuring goals, impacts, and case studies.
- Manage the annual audit of the TAF and assist in its administration, including invoicing.
- Maintain and update TAF Policies and Procedures to ensure compliance with funders’ requirements and alignment with investment and E&S objectives.
- Monitor compliance of beneficiaries with the Funds E&S policies and exclusion lists.
- Maintain and update the list of prospective consultants for different types of technical assistance projects.
Requirements
- Minimum of five years of experience managing technical assistance projects and/or E&S management for or on behalf of impact investors or consultancies.
- Bachelor’s Degree (Experience working with or within microfinance institutions / IFIs is preferred.)
- Experience working in Africa is advantageous.
- Professional qualifications commensurate with the responsibilities of the role.
