Johannesburg: Technical SHEQ Manager

Key Responsibilities Lead and manage the SHEQ function across the site in alignment with OHS Act, ISO standards and company policies. Implement and monitor SHEQ strategies, risk assessments, safe operating procedures and compliance frameworks. Conduct SHEQ audits, inspections and incident investigations, ensuring corrective and preventive actions are implemented. Drive training initiatives, toolbox talks and awareness campaigns to promote a zero-harm culture. Maintain ISO 45001, ISO 14001 and ISO 9001 systems and ensure certification compliance. Report SHEQ performance metrics, trends and improvements to senior leadership. Liaise with external stakeholders (regulatory bodies, auditors, insurance, environmental agencies). Champion continuous improvement initiatives across safety, environmental impact and product quality. Minimum Requirements Technical qualification (Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Industrial, Environmental, or similar). SAMTRAC, NEBOSH, or an equivalent SHEQ/Safety certification (ESSENTIAL). Minimum 5 years experience in a SHEQ role within Engineering, FMCG, Manufacturing, Mining or Heavy Industry. Strong knowledge of SHE legislation in South Africa (OHS Act, COIDA, NEMA, SANS & ISO standards). Proven experience in risk assessment, incident investigation, auditing and systems management. Excellent communication, leadership and training skills. Ability to influence teams, enforce compliance, and drive a proactive safety culture.
