Johannesburg: Trade Accountant

You will play a key role in supporting the preparation of Financial Statements and Internal Management Accounts for multiple entities operating across Oil, LNG, Natural Gas, Power and Environmental Products markets. Your duties will include: Performing intercompany reconciliations and agreeing balances Conducting Front-to-Back system reconciliations between Front Office and Back Office systems Completing P&L and balance sheet reconciliations Managing inventory and broker reconciliations Performing third-party account matching (invoices and cash transactions) Collaborating with Treasury and Front Office teams for cash allocations Analysing debtors and creditors , including ageing analysis Preparing and booking month-end journals Supporting system upgrades, process automation and control improvements Assisting with management and statutory audits Liaising with teams in the UK, USA, Switzerland and Singapore Contributing to management reporting and analytics Completing ad-hoc tasks as required Qualification Requirements Degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field Early stages of ACCA / CIMA / SAIPA / CFA , or strong intention to pursue a professional qualification Fluent in business English both written and verbal Experience & Skills Needed 35 years relevant working experience SAP experience advantageous Exposure to a commodity trading or multinational environment beneficial Experience working in an offshore team supporting head office is an advantage Strong Excel and general IT proficiency Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to manage tasks independently and resolve issues remotely Strong problem-solving ability with a methodical and analytical mindset Adaptability in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment Proven ability to meet tight monthly deadlines Apply now!
