Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee the full finance function including GL, reconciliations, reporting, and month-end
• Manage stock, costing, and inventory processes in a high-volume operational environment
• Partner with warehouse and production managers to ensure strong financial controls
• Handle supplier management, payment cycles, and relationship oversight
• Drive financial accuracy, process improvements, and operational efficiency

Job Experience and Skills Required:

• BCom degree with completed articles beneficial
• 3+ years’ experience in a similar role
• Experience within an industrial or production-based environment is essential
• Strong exposure to stock, inventory, and operational finance
• A tough, confident personality with the ability to hold ground in a demanding environment

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes, providing insightful analysis on key performance drivers such as metal yield, scrap rates, energy efficiency, and plant utilization.
• Oversee all financial operations, including month-end reporting, cash flow management, and rigorous working capital control with a focus on inventory valuation (raw materials, WIP, and finished goods) and creditor/debtor cycles.
• Ensure robust financial controls and full compliance with IFRS, SARS, and all statutory requirements, specifically relating to complex fixed asset accounting and capital project expenditure.
• Manage, mentor, and develop the finance team, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.
• Partner with operational leadership to evaluate Capital Expenditure (CAPEX) projects, providing financial modelling and post-investment appraisal to guide strategic decisions.

Job Experience & Skills Required:

• Completed CIMA qualification.
• Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in a finance management role, with a significant portion in a manufacturing, heavy industry, or mining environment.
• Proven, in-depth experience in a metal manufacturing or related heavy industry is highly advantageous.
• Demonstrated expertise with major ERP systems (e.g., SAP and Oracle) for financial control and manufacturing costing.
• Strong leadership skills and strategic commercial acumen, with a proven track record of directly impacting operational profitability and driving cost-saving initiatives on the shop floor.
