About the Role
A prominent Commercial Property / Real Estate Investment Trust is seeking recently qualified Wireman’s Licence Graduate to join their technical facilities team. This is a crucial entry-level role for candidates who have successfully obtained their wireman’s licence or are in the final stages of achieving this certification. Based in Johannesburg, this presents a unique chance to start a career in property maintenance and technical services with a market-leading company.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct routine preventative maintenance and perform essential repairs and fault-finding on property electrical systems (lighting, power distribution).
- Assist senior staff with the installation and modification of electrical infrastructure across the property portfolio.
- Guarantee all work adheres strictly to the Occupational Health and Safety Act and relevant SANS electrical standards, utilizing the Wireman’s Licence.
- Address immediate electrical faults and emergencies within the commercial properties in a timely and safe manner.
- Accurately document all maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs for compliance and reporting.
Requirements
- Possession of a valid Wireman’s Licence (or documented evidence of being in the final stage of acquisition).
- Strong theoretical knowledge of electrical principles, systems, and installations, particularly in a commercial or industrial setting.
- Familiarity with the SANS 10142 (The Wiring of Premises) standards and all relevant safety regulations (OHSA).
- Ability to read and interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
- Willingness to work in a dynamic, on-site environment and respond to urgent service calls.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a high degree of technical aptitude for troubleshooting electrical faults.
Qualifications
- Completed Matric (or equivalent) with a strong foundation in mathematics and science.
