PROCUREMENT OFFICER NORTHERN CAPE

Validation of quotes timeously and ensure that quotations received are at the best price and quality Placing of orders & follow-ups on delivery lead times to communicate with internal customers Monitor & improve the running of the MRP and the procurement of materials
Forecasting & monitoring of required stock & supply patterns with strong involvement with Top Management Responsible for planning, developing & buying of materials
Maintain Procurement and operating procedures / Monitoring inventory & delivery variances in price & quantities Manage & control defective/obsolete/redundant materials / Liase with suppliers on availability of stock & future supply Liase with accounts payable & internal customers and suppliers on the quality and performance of products
Prepare purchase requisitions, create & execute purchase orders of materials and services
Prepare reports and updates on a weekly & monthly basis / Strict adherence to Company Policies & Procedures Maintain high level of accuracy in reviewing, preparing and entering financial information

EXPERIENCE AND REQUIREMENTS:
5+ years of experience as a procurement officer or in a similar position Proficiency in Microsoft Office and purchasing software.
Material Planning & Procurement /Cost Accounting experience would by highly advantageous Strategic Sourcing / Supplier Relationship Management
Category Management / Procurement Project Management Supplier Negotiations / Strategic Negotiations
Spend Analysis / RFQ Supplier Sourcing
ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS:

Accounting Qualification
Matric with Relevant Qualification and Valid drivers license
Cost Management & Supply Chain Qualifications will be highly advantageous

BEHAVIORAL COMPETENCIES:
High level of computer literacy
Experience in accounting would be beneficial Excellent negotiation skills / Organized & systemized
