Job Summary

Hire Resolve`s client, a leading provider of mechanical engineering services specializing in HVAC and refrigeration systems, is currently seeking a skilled HVAC Technician to join their team in Krugersdorp. The successful candidate will play a key role in the installation, servicing, and repair of HVAC & R systems while ensuring compliance with safety, health, environmental, and quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Installation, Servicing, and Repair:
    • Conduct installations, maintenance, and repairs of HVAC & R systems, including chilled water systems, cooling towers, pumps, split units, cold rooms, freezer rooms, VRF/VRV systems, packaged units, and more.
    • Inspect electrical systems and test circuits for continuity.
    • Resolve defects, malfunctions, and non-conformance issues promptly.
    • Reassemble equipment following repairs and ensure compliance with appliance standards.
  • Quality Assurance and Compliance:
    • Adhere to the OSH Act, ISO standards, and industry best practices.
    • Maintain high-quality workmanship and complete tasks within the agreed timeframe and budget.
    • Clean plant rooms, filters, and maintain an organized workspace.
  • Health and Safety:
    • Comply with all safety, health, environmental, and quality (SHEQ) requirements.
    • Participate in safety training and maintain readiness for emergencies.

Requirements

  • Education and Qualifications:
    • Grade 12 with a Trade Test in Mechanical or Electrical fields.
    • OTTC, ACRA, or N-Stream qualification.
    • Safe Handling Certificate (Mandatory).
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 5 years experience in a similar role.
    • Proven expertise in HVAC systems such as VRF/VRV, air handling units, and computer room cooling systems.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Strong understanding of electrical and control circuits.
    • Proficiency in MS Office tools.
    • Knowledge of safe refrigerant handling techniques.

    Requirements:

    • Valid drivers license and access to reliable transport.
    • Own hand tools and a smartphone.
    • Police clearance and medical fitness certificate.
    • Willingness to travel.
