PURPOSE OF THE JOB: The incumbent in this position will ensure optimum plant availability & efficiency by maintaining and repairing plant and equipment according to engineering specifications and safety standards. The incumbent will manage the process controller to ensure adherence to Standard Operating procedures and quality. Must be electrically and mechanically strong as a qualified Millwright. Key Competencies / Skills: Problem solving Resilience Initiative / Proactive Self-awareness Positive attitude Willing to work long hours Ability to adapt to rapidly changing environment Ability to work without supervision KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Maintenance, faultfinding and repairs on 32 automated high-pressure sanitary ware NIV casting machines ( PLCs, VSDs, Hydraulics and Pneumatics ) Maintenance, faultfinding and repairs on KUKA robots (GAITTO) Ensuring production targets and quality standards are met, supervision of plant operators, planning and allocating work and preparing production reports Shift team leader: 33 people reporting directly on night shift and 9 people reporting direct to on day shift Assist process controllers and quality controllers on all casting machines and KUKA robots Initiating and conducting disciplinary hearings Critical Spare part Management for allocated machine Active involvement in the developing implementing and maintaining Preventative Maintenance System. Ensure housekeeping and safety principles are always adhered to. Lead daily hand over meeting with process controllers at the machines Full Perform fault finding and corrective maintenance on Casting machines, Air Compressors, boilers, and robots Full Coordinate purchasing of spare part together with the stores coordinator Shared Throw away demoulding scrap daily in the mornings Shared Plan, coordinate and execute preventative maintenance during mould treatments, Weekly, Monthly, Quarterly and Yearly Full Execute continuous improvement project Full Ensure alarms on machines are resolved timeously and managed effectively to reduce defects and downtime Full Attend handover meetings with HOD and sandwrights Full Monitor machine parameters, i.e. thickness and glue line and adjust accordingly to control final quality Full Lead night shift as per schedule Shared Perform standby duties when required Full Reduce machine down time to achieve >95% of machine output daily Full
