Job Summary
Kendrick Recruitment is now seeking a highly experienced and passionate Head Guide for a prestigious luxury private wildlife reserve located in the Kalahari. This is an exciting opportunity for a senior-level guide who is deeply knowledgeable about the African bush, conservation-focused, and confident leading a guiding team in a remote and pristine wilderness setting.
Key Responsibilities:

Lead and mentor a team of guides to ensure consistently exceptional guest experiences
-
Conduct guided game drives and walking safaris, delivering insightful and engaging interpretation
-
Uphold the highest standards of safety and professionalism at all times
-
Assist with the ongoing training and development of junior guides and trackers
-
Maintain guide vehicles and equipment in excellent condition
-
Oversee guiding schedules, vehicle allocations, and guest activity planning
-
Work closely with the management team to enhance the overall guest experience and operational effectiveness
-
Contribute to the reserve’s conservation ethos and promote responsible tourism practices
Requirements:
-
FGASA Level 2 (minimum) with Lead Trails Guide qualification preferred
-
Valid ARH, First Aid Level 2, and PDP
-
DEAT/THETA registered and legally compliant
-
Minimum of 5 years experience in a guiding role, including at least 2 years in a senior or leadership capacity
-
Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills
-
Excellent bush knowledge and a passion for guest engagement and education
-
Comfortable living and working in a remote, off-grid environment
-
Professional, presentable, and guest-focused approach
